Football quarter & semifinals

We started off the summer term with our football cup matches. The boys kicked things off with their quarterfinal against Rosecliffe - after a thrilling end to end match and hitting the crossbar twice, we fell just short to a late goal, unfortunately losing the match 1-0. The boys put in an excellent performance against a good team and should be really proud of their efforts!

Next up was the eagerly anticipated semi-final for the girls, where we came up against last year's cup and league winners, Crossdale. The girls played some fantastic football on the day, creating lots of chances and some unbelievable passing moves but sadly fell to defeat, losing 2-0 but arguably played their best match all year giving it 110% throughout.

The girls didn't let the semi-final disappointment affect them, as a week later they played Bunny in a league match and bounced back superbly. Winning the match 12-3!!!!! Ivy scored her first ever goal quickly followed by her second! Captain Ella C scored goal of the season! However, player of the match undoubtedly went to Renee who managed to score... 9 goals!!!!! Debuts were also handed out to two year 3 girls, who stepped up with ease, making it a very successful afternoon for the girls team, who find themselves now top of the league.

We are so incredibly proud of the performances these last few weeks, despite defeats in the cup we have played some fantastic football and the attitude of the children has been exceptional, even after defeats. Well done all!
