Football Tournament Stars

We began the school year with the annual Rushcliffe schools football tournaments. The girls were up first with 3 of our girls were chosen to represent Costock in a mixed team with Gotham. We won one game 2-0 and drew the other two. The girls made us incredibly proud - Ella's outstanding captaincy, Ivy running her socks off (literally!) and Renee's goals summed up how excellently they represented Costock.

The following Saturday featured the boys' tournament. Due to a shortage of players, Ella received her first call-up to the boys' team at the last minute and proved to be a valuable addition. We started strong, winning our first two matches 1-0 with excellent dribbling, passing, and finishing. Two draws and one loss in the following matches resulted in us finishing in an impressive 3^rd place in our group. Another fantastic day for the team; the best performance from Costock in many years.

Congratulations to both teams; we are extremely proud of you. A big thank you as well to Mr. Pollard and Mr. Bakewell for giving up their Saturday mornings so we could participate.
