A bumper Harvest (& the pets came too!)

The sun shone (at the second time of asking!) on our annual Harvest Festival and Pet Service. This is one of the children's favourite services of the year as they take pride in helping others through our annual harvest appeal, and also get to see their pets in school!

This year we once again supported The Friary harvest appeal. The Friary is a charity in West Brigford with a strong Christian ethos, dedicated to helping the homeless and vulnerable. Our school council did a great job in encouraging their friends to provide donations of food, snacks and toiletries which will make a huge difference to those less fortunate than ourselves. We are aware that the cost of living impacts us all and so were absolutely blown away by the generosity of our whole school community. THANK YOU!

Not only did we celebrate the Harvest, we also celebrated St Francis who is known as the patron saint of animals. Many family pets were brought to our outdoor service on the school field and the children enjoyed being able to bless their animals (and of course make a fuss of them!). We were joined by a variety of pets from dogs and guinea pigs to a snake and a gecko.
