In a year full of sport, and with the Olympics just around the corner, we had the privilege of welcoming Sam Oldham to Costock for the day! A former GB Olympic Gymnast, Sam brought in his Olympic medal, that he won in the 2012 London Olympics, as well as his Olympic torch to show and let the children hold(!) and pose with.
Sam performed a speech in front of the whole school and wowed us all with his handstands, back flips, strength and motivation. He even showed us a clip of him performing on the high bars! Each class got a training session with Sam where the children were doing cartwheels, stretches, jumps and forward rolls. Class 3 listened to him deliver such a really inspiring message in their coaching session back in the classroom. He talked a lot about that positive inner voice and the need to take responsibility for making the best of yourself. We all had a fantastic day and thank Sam for his time in delivering such a positive message and giving us a great day at Costock!
